Hydrotherapy

Water is a relaxing and supportive medium in which to move and exercise. Hydrotherapy can provide an excellent rehabilitation approach for those individuals who have limited mobility (due to pain or paralysis), enabling movement and exercise to take place safely and freely that would otherwise be too painful or impossible on land.

Hydrotherapy

There are many benefits of physiotherapy in a pool environment. Hydrotherapy can be fun and relaxing, helping to encourage normal movement whilst strengthening muscles and improving exercise tolerance, relaxing muscle spasm and relieving pressure from painful joints. The hydrostatic pressure from the water also helps to promote healing, boosts circulation and can reduce swelling around a joint.

At Yorkshire Neuro Physiotherapy, we can provide your physiotherapy treatment within a pool environment as part of your rehabilitation and, if appropriate, devise a hydrotherapy programme that you can continue to perform in between your physiotherapy sessions with us. We can involve family / carers as required, and teach them any necessary handling skills to help with your rehabilitation process.

If you would like to find out more about hydrotherapy sessions with us, please feel free to get in touch.
